Pagosa Kinderhouse
A Waldorf-inspired Childcare Center

The Pagosa Kinder House is a bridge between home and school which the child crosses through their favorite pastime; joyful play. A carefully unified program of structured and unstructured play creates enthusiasm for learning and accelerated abilities in the later grades as it lays a foundation for independent and responsible living. Parents also gain greater insight into their child’s development through ongoing study groups with a variety of early life professionals.
The early years are crucial to all that follows in lifelong human development. People in early life believe the world to be moral and good; they are keen observers who learn by imitating those around them. So, the teacher’s role is pivotal as a worthy example of being.
The teacher creates a collaborative environment infused with a mood of reverence, wonder and care. A daily rhythm of free play and group activities exploring nature, playing with simple toys and equipment, and enjoying quality artistic activities results in: language development, enhanced comprehension, strong imagination, healthy emotional and social skills, and knowing themselves as spiritual beings having an earthly experience free of dogma.
The Children's Garden is an independent, culturally inclusive, non-denominational parent-child-teacher community devoted to supporting the full expression of each child’s individual consciousness.
Treasure Mountain Chirldren's Garden accepts children ages 3-6 years old. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of July 26, 1990, our center does not discriminate based on the sex, race, nationality, religion, or special needs of children or their parents. Every effort will be made, to the extent that our program and facility are adequate, to accommodate those with special needs.
